What Sets Us Apart
Weaver Dentistry dates back to the late 1800's with Dr. Russell Sherrill first opening the practice in the old Banking and Trust Building in downtown Raleigh. Dr. Sherrill cultivated a practice built on high moral standards and
patient care that our patients still enjoy today.
In 1912 Dr. Sherrill was elected as the President of the North Carolina Dental Society, one of the highest honors in the field of dentistry.
Dr. Sherrill soon became ill and decided to bring in a partner with whom he could entrust his patients and practice with. Henry O. Lineberger was that trusted collegue and he began practicing alongside Dr. Sherill in 1915. Dr. Lineberger Sr. continued practicing successfully until he made the decision to serve his country in World War I. After completing his service, Dr. Lineberger Sr. moved his practice into the Odd Fellows Building on Hargett Street and soon after founded the now renowned dental school at UNC Chapel Hill.
Dr. Lineberger's son, Henry Lineberger Jr. was actually in the first graduating class from the UNC Dental School in 1954 and soon after joined his father's practice. During the 1960's Dr. Lineberger Jr. hired the first dental hygenist and a new partner, Danny Lotz, a familiar name for UNC basketball fans! (Dr. Lotz played on the 1957 National Championship team under Coach Frank McGuire!)
Lineberger Jr. and Lotz successfully maintained a family-oriented and successful practice for many years and in 1991 brought in Dr. Greg Weaver, a fellow UNC graduate and friend. Dr. Weaver gained the trust and love of Dr. Lineberger's life-long patients and staff making a seamless transition into Weaver Dentistry after Dr. Lineberger retired!
Dr. Weaver is a vested member of of the dental community, holding memberships with the ADA, NC Dental Society, Raleigh-Wake County Dental Society, American Academy of General Dentistry and the American Acadamey of Cosmetic Dentistry. Dr. Weaver enjoys spending time with his wife, Susan, their two children and his church family at Hayes Barton United Methodist Church.
Earlier this year Dr. Weaver decided to add to his practice by hiring Dr. Alan Sykes, a life-long friend and fellow UNC alumni. Together Dr.'s Weaver and Sykes have over 55 years of experince and enjoy staying up to date on the latest dental technology and techniques.
Weaver Dentistry has enjoyed a long and successful histoy and would love to add you to that history! Call our office today for a free consultation and meet our wonderful doctors and staff that have learned from Raleigh's finest and know what it means to put their patients first!
